Things to do around Aviemore

With so much open space and national park, your options for outdoor activities are endless.  Walking and mountain biking routes are available throughout the Cairngorms and the surrounding forests and hills so there is something for every level of ability.

If you’re a golfer, then Rowlands is for you, being only a 5 minute walk to the Dalfaber course.  And don’t forget that there are many more courses within 30 minutes drive.

With ample watersports like fishing, sailing and canoeing as well as the new pool in Aviemore, even wet weather days can be fun!  The area is also renowned for its wildlife and don’t forget a trip on the steam railway to Boat of Garten and Broomhill (aka Glenbogle!) or the funicular train to the top of Cairngorm.

For winter sports enthusiasts, Scotland’s best snow resort beckons and the Cairngorms are also a magnet for summer and winter climbers alike!

Finally with the Speyside distilleries (all 40 or so of them) within 45 minutes drive, no visit to the Highlands is complete without at least one distillery tour and a dram of whisky!
